Desert of Erg Chebbi

“Dunes change with the wind, but the desert remains the same.”

(Paulo Coelho)

Our route begins in Merzouga where the hammada extends, on the border with Algeria, to continue through the desert of Erg Chebbi formed up of dunes as the Great Dune, of up to 200 meters. high. We cross the dune sea for three days with a camel caravan that allows us to move more safely through the desert, but we do part of the route on foot, stopping in small oasis we find in the desert.

At sunset, the golden sunlight caresses the dunes. We share tea and then dinner with Berber nomads in the silence of the night, under a sky covered with magic stars you could fondle the hands.
